The limits of 'Social'

The new Internet is often about social interaction, sharing, liking or scoring points. What at first glance sounds like fun or helpful, has its downside when you think about it critically. Who benefits from which possibilities?

Social media

Massage123 has a Twitter channel and a Facebook page. The maintenance of both turns out to be somewhat difficult. The big problem is Facebook. The social media market leader does not allow anything erotic. For us as well as for the providers, this means running the gauntlet. The chance of being blocked is high. Same issue with Facebooks subsidiary Instagram, which would otherwise prove to be a great marketing tool in many cases.

What remains is Twitter, which at least at present has no reservations about eroticism or even sex. You can even publish porn there - it would be against Swiss or European laws - but not against the platform rules. Compared to Facebook, however, there are relatively few German-speaking people on Twitter, which is not the best choice for providers, but still the best at times.

Another hurdle is anonymity. Not everyone wants to follow someone with eroticism on their private Facebook profile. Twitter is ahead of the game here as well: You can and may create an account under a nickname.

So here's a current tip: If you want to be active in a social network as a masseuse, Twitter is currently the best address. By the way, if you send us your Twitter name, we will gladly follow.

Social interaction

Meanwhile star ratings of all kinds of things can be found on the net: products, hotels, restaurants,... What at first sounds very practical to find a good offer, has also a problem: The reliability. There are agencies that are specialized in giving ratings on behalf of their customers wherever possible. This can also be used negatively, namely to present competitors in a bad light. Fortunately one recognizes such manipulations with the time, one must learn to read between the lines.

In the end, this is also a reason why we at Massage123 refrain from allowing to give ratings. The danger of wrong ratings or wrong interpretations is too big. Especially in this sector soft factors play a big role: the chemistry, physical and mental state on the day, the expectations... If you still want to share your good or bad experience with the general public, you can do so in relevant online forums.

Social Conclusion

Social has its limits, especially when it comes to the most beautiful topic in the world. Fortunately, life doesn't only happen on the net but also in the real world. After all, you can't get a massage through the internet. But at least the net helps - from the customer's point of view - to get a better picture of an offer and to find offers at all.
